About First Christian Church
First Christian Church, Hennessey was established in 1895. From the very beginning, the membership of FCC has answered God’s call and shared the vision of “sharing God’s love” in our community and our world. That mission continues today. It has never been more important than now, in a hurting world, to share God’s message of love and grace.
FCC is involved in numerous projects throughout the year in our community and beyond enabling God’s people to share God’s love.
Church Family
At FCC, along with Sunday Worship, we have Sunday School classes for all ages from toddlers to adults. If you are looking for Bible study outside the norm of Sunday morning, we have Bible studies that meet during the week.
We have many other opportunities for involvement in the life of the church through the Christian Women’s Fellowship and the Men’s Fellowship. Junior High and High School youth also have weekly meetings to help the young people of our community grow closer to Christ on their journey.
If your journey with Christ has left you with questions or doubts, we cannot promise you the answers you seek. If your journey through life has dealt you pain and heartbreak, we cannot promise to take away your pain.
We CAN promise to walk with you, side by side, through all of life’s struggles, lifting you up in prayer and love.
Through faith, hope, and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ, as children of God, we promise to share in your sorrow as well as your great joy that comes through a deep relationship with God.
Pastor - Mickey Moery
Pastor Mickey Moery has served FCC since March of 2008, first as Transitional Minister then as Minister since April 2009. Mickey's service has truly been a homecoming after growing up in this church and serving in various positions, he anwered the call to ministry in 1998 and served at Ames Christian Church from 2000 until 2007 when he and Pat returned to Hennessey. "I feel it is a great blessing to be able to serve God in a place that has been supporting me throughout my life. I know there are many wonderful opportunities ahead for this church to make a difference in this community and beyond sharing God's love and I am humbled to be part of God's ministry in this church."
Choir Director - Pat Moery
Pat Moery has served as Choir Director at FCC since 2007 and enjoys the opportunity she has sharing her love of music with the church.
Youth Minister/Administrative Asst. - Amy Arndt
Amy Arndt administers to all office duties and serves as Youth Minister for our High School and Junior High youth programs.
